Apopka, The Big Potato, Florida

I lived in this lovely town, just north of Orlando, for over 8 years.  They were some of the best years in my life and it is still a place I love going back to visit over and over.  This week WESH online news has a pictorial display of Apopka's history.  It is one for the books really.  I learned so many things about Apopka.  For example there had been a terrible tornado in 1918 that destroyed the town's one room school house.  Later the town rebuilt a much larger school with sturdy concrete and bricks.  Just fun to look at and mentally locate where each picture was taken.  See link here.
