Watching the Birds in the morning
Yesterday, I had the distinct pleasure to look out the window and discover a lively crowd chattering and cavorting in the cold. They were not children in the snow nor the frisky chihuahua going out for a walk. They were birds! Originally, there were 14 or so birds flitting from the bushes to the trees to the sky making daring maneuvers and risky landings. A couple were red to reddish brown which I think were Cardinals, then there was this uncharacteristically bashful blue jay sitting quietly at the bottom of the tree while some plumper multicolored and tiny ones flew in and out. They were a sight to behold.
There is life in this cold hard north after all.
