It's Raining Perros y Gatos!
So I am in Puerto Rico these days and soon to return to the States nex week, but
it has been raining everyday. These rains have kept me settled in Maunabo
because I have gotten to Humacao after coming down the 901 from Maunabo, to
discover the Central part of the island, basically Las Piedras, Juncos, Gurabo
and Caguas virtually covered with dark gray clouds looking to unload copious
amounts of precipitation. This is not typical to have so many continuous days of
rain. usually the trade winds blow these fronts either west or East but recently
this has not been the case. As a result, many people have suffered flooded
vehicles, washed out roads, and houses whose ground soil can easily wash away. I
am praying the condo that I am in will stay in place as well as the main access
road between Yabucoa and Maunabo, the 901. These heavy rains make the soil
unstable, making the roads foundations slip under the pavement amd the road to
collapse. people have been sending pictures which give a foundation for our
concern. Dios nos ayude. God help us.
