Here are some lovely robles de sierra that are now much more visible around town.

I think that it is White Cedar. That is what it is called on Dominica.

Well, I think you are right. According to a book I have by Dorothy and Bob Hargreaves, called Tropical Blossoms of the Caribbean, there are two trees that are very similar, the yellow version called the Elder, and the lavendar known as Pink Poui also called Pink Cedar, Pink Trumpet Tree, and White Cedar. Both trees are called Roble in Spanish but several other names, too: Roble de Yugo, Amapola, Amapa Rosa, and Matilisquate. I agree with it being a Poui or White Cedar.
