Was it Swine Flu?

Central Florida is still waiting to hear this morning if a Mexican Tourist who went to Disney has Swine Flu. The news media and doctors had promised a test result yesterday and unfortunately the results have been delayed. So everyone is on their toes anxiously awaiting the results. Whatever the case, you can read more about it at Central Fla. Awaits Flu Test Results

Possibly related to that case could be a group of students from South Carolina. A group of students who came to Disney here in Central Florida, might have contracted the virus. See article, SC Students Sickened After Disney Trip at Wesh.com.

Nevertheless, people are taking steps to protect themselves regardless of official results and diagnosis. Buying more hand sanitizer, sprays, and washing their hands. I know the next step is surgical masks. My next step is that I am going to clean off the desks in my classroom and door handles, especially after any sick student has used them and have hand sanitizer available in the classroom.

Swine Flu Precautions in Orange County

I am relieved that Orange County, FL is going to be proactive in facing not only the fears but also the possibility of a swine flu outbreak. Not that we have had any reported cases in Florida. Swine flu can be treated if the person is aware that they have it. So lets all calm down, wash our hands, cover our faces, and try not to share this thing. Please find a good article with pertinent information. Swine Flu article.

Here is another section that has a slew of links, videos and articles on many aspects related to this possible pandemic and also how to prevent and deal with this virus.

Encouraging Words for Today

My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my expectation is from Him.
He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be moved.
In God is my salvation and my glory;
The rock of my strength,
And my refuge, is in God.

Psalm 62:5-7

These words take an act of the will to appropriate. It doesn't say my soul waits. It says: "My soul, wait" In other words it is in the imperative tense or command. It is godly self talk. The speaker is encouraging him or herself with the truth.

Within the storms of life we need to tell our soul to wait upon the Lord, upon God, alone. If we look around our lives, people have failed us, sometimes governments, often governments, leaders, family, and the list goes on and on. But God never fails. His love endures forever. I choose to believe him again today for all my situations. I hope you do, too.

Note:
You might not believe this but after I wrote this entry, I was watching the Worship Channel and the peaceful music and panoramic views were highlighting Psalm 62. They had the words up there and I thought I recognize those words. Then they put the reference, Psalm 62. What a pleasant God thing! You know I was blessed!
