Snap Shots of Miami

The first three pictures are either of or from the Brickell Bridge in Downtown Miami. The building are reflective of the fast pace and pride in the city. In the more fashionable area of town many people dress impeccably. I enjoyed my visit, don't get me wrong, but the fast pace, is not for me.

Of the pictures that I took, I really enjoyed the lines in the last one from the elevated light rail. The building in shades of green contrasted by golden yellow makes for a nice effect, I thought.

There was a marathon taking place near the Bay Park, smack in the middle of the week with a lot of participation which included people from all walks of life supporting their loved one by cheering them on or running in the race itself. Another observation was that the economy seems to be picking up in Miami contrary to Orlando. Downtown had a lot of movement of people, but the Dolphin mall where my daughter and I, met up with my niece Virginia was surprisingly packed in the middle of the week! Frankly, I was astonished. I imagine that is a sign the economy is getting better and I hope that filters up to Orlando.

My son, of whom I am very proud, was graduating from the Miami Police Academy, and that was the best part of all. Congratulations, Juan!

Did I mention I got to see two of my children? Aside from the graduation, that was the best by far. So thank you dears for making it possible and to Miami for the welcome.

I am surprised that was your impression of the people there. I thought that during our walks downtown we saw a lot of normal looking people, lots of Latinos and that honestly it reminded me a lot of San Juan. With the exception of the lady at the perfume shop, I thought everyone was very nice. The mall we went to however was wacky!
