Life Has It's Seasons

That title reminds me of the song I thought for years was Simon and Garfunkle's, but it wasn't. It was the Byrds! A song full of so much wisdom. No wonder! The lyrics are from the Bible, by Solomon, inspired by God!

Ecclesiastes 3!

To every thing turn, turn, turn
There is a season, turn, turn, turn
And a time to every purpose unto heaven

A time to be born
A time to die
A time to plant
A time to reap
A time to kill
A time to heat
A time to laugh
A time to weep

To every thing turn, turn, turn
There is a season, turn, turn, turn
And a time to every purpose unto heaven

A time to build up
A time to tear down
A time to dance
A time to mourn
A time to cast away stones
A time gather stones together

To every thing, turn, turn, turn
There is a season, turn turn turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven

A time of love
A time of hate
A time of war
A time of peace
A time in which you embrace
A time to refrain from _____ embraces

To every thing, turn, turn, turn
There is a season, turn turn turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven

A time to gain
A time to lose
A time to rend
A time to sew
A time for love
A time for hate
A time for peace
I swear its not too late

You can go to You Tube and hear them sing the song, just like I heard them in the 60's. It is just as relevant now as it was then.

You can also look up the passage from which this song comes, Ecclesiastes 3.

Unfortunately, Solomon was on a very negative bent that day, but the Lord allowed him to take his thinking to the end. On this particular day, Solomon based his opinion on only what he saw and though he believed in God, he did not make God his reference point, his north on his compass. What we see in this world is not all there is. In fact, Solomon refers to his belief that God will judge us all someday. Yet Solomon in life fluctuated between sensing God presence yet not understanding the immensity of God's love and that we, his children, are not outside of his mercy and grace.

In a sense we all go through this same cycle, sometimes we are certain of God's love yet at others we falter when we are faced with a trial. Sometimes we want to face these situations alone but we don't have to. We don't have to shut him out in the hard times. "God is a very present help, in time of trouble."
